Various suggestions were made for activities on 5 December. Norah will lead on this. The party will be on 19 December. Pass the parcel was popular last year. Norah will organise. Susan to ask Tom Clegg if he would bring some Ukulele players and some singers. If they are not available, then the U3A musicians may be.

Quentin will co-ordinate with Niccola and Janet to work out how best to monitor what information we have and how best to ensure that the carers have access to this. Lisa has offered to catalogue our resources.

The Healthy Living event was fairly quiet. It was mainly family members who picked up information for their relatives.

(Omitted from agenda: Wendy Mitchell and Nicci Gerrard – Ilkley Literature Festival – Sunday 13 October 2019, 5.30pm, Clarke Foley Centre.)
b) La Boheme – Opera North, Leeds Grand – Thursday 24 October 2019, 2.30pm, £15.

d) Ladies Please Christmas Concert – Friday 13 December 2019, 7.00 – 9.00pm, Burley Methodist Church.
They would like us to organise the publicity, raffle and sell the tickets. It was agreed that we would charge £6 and it would be easier if people just paid on the door. Susan will ask Emma McKendrick to draft a poster, flyers and tickets.
Update: Dorrie Clarke, Musical Director is not expecting us to take on all the organisation. She would like us to print the posters and tickets, do a small raffle (say, 5 nice prizes) and simple refreshments (such as juice and mince pies). The cost to be £7, to include refreshments.
She is not at all happy about our idea of not having tickets. The Ladies Please people would sell to their own friends and family - and to folk connected with Burley Oaks. So, we are being asked to sell only to BDAG members and supporters.
e) The Wind in the Willows, Dementia Friendly performance, Ilkley Playhouse – Saturday 14 December 2019, 2.30pm.
f) The Wizard of Oz, Leeds Playhouse - Tuesday 14 January 2020 . Val is to see if the Playhouse will be doing afternoon teas and find out the cost. It was agreed to discuss the funding of this when we know the cost of the teas.
5. Treasurer’s Report. No report as Niccola is away.
6. Building Dementia Friendly Communities
Val reported back on painting the steps of public buildings and businesses in the village. Bradford Council and Burley Parish Council have approved the painting of their steps. She has emailed the churches and asked Norah if she would approach the Catholic Church. It will be a bigger task to ask the landlords of the businesses for their permission. It was agreed that yellow is the best colour for visually impaired people. Bob Felstead has offered to do the painting, but it was thought that he may need some help. It was suggested that Dale Smith may be able to help with paint supplies. Val to enquire.
7. Correspondence and publicity
Thanks to Lisa for updating and enhancing our website.
Due to lack of time the rest of the business is to be carried over to the next meeting.
